Since developing our first aero gas turbine engine in 1945, IHI has been a major global OEM for gas turbine design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance services. Springing from our long relationship with GE Aero (Cincinnati, USA) beginning in 1956, IHI has developed engines for both aeronautical and land-based power generation independently and in collaboration with other gas turbine OEMs. Examples of commercial aircraft engines where IHI designed parts can be found include the CF6 (powering the Boeing 747 and Airbus A330) all the way up to the next generation V2500 and GENX engines (powering the Airbus 320 and 787 Dreamliner).
Building on almost 70 years of aero engine experience and engineering capability, IHI offers complete gas turbine packages for land based power generation. IHI has been collaborating with GE Cincinnati on the LM series land based gas turbine for development and manufacturing since 1967 beginning with the original LM100 engine. Currently, IHI offers the LM2500, LM2500+ (20 – 31 MW output) and LM6000 (40 MW output) packages.
From base engines assembled by GE Aero, IHI builds LM-series gas turbine packages at the IHI Manufacturing Facility in Kure Japan incorporating our CSI series control system IHI’s proprietary CSI series control system offers a complete customizable solution tailored to specific customer requirements.
IHI also specializes in complete LM6000 CCGT packages including the steam cycle and can offer complete plant performance guarantees to streamline the power plant construction and delivery process. During operation, the IHI CSI series control system shines under CCGT configurations as the entire power plant can be controlled by the CSI interface thus reducing the system complexity, simplifying diagnostics/upgrades and enabling easier operation. Building from extensive experience in both gas turbine and boiler maintenance, IHI can also offer complete plant maintenance packages to simplify O&M and maximize plant availability.
